About Newcastle Ward 2

The Ward 2 Electorate is based in the south-eastern corner of the City of Newcastle local government area. It is boadered by the Newcastle and Central Coast Rail Line with stations at Kotara, Adamstown, Broadmeadow, Hamilton and terminating at the Newcastle Interchange.

The Ward was established in 1995, when Newcastle City Council adopted an electoral system of four Wards.

The electorate is known for it’s beaches, parks and local sports, food, shopping and entertainment, heritage, culture and the diverse communities within.

Ward 2 has a population of about 45,000 residents and more than 33,000 enrolled voters.
